Global Electronics Council (“GEC,” “we,” or “us”) may offer the option to communicate with you through mobile text messages (“SMS”). These SMS Terms & Privacy Notice describe how we collect, use, and protect information related to mobile text messaging. By opting in to receive SMS messages from us, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility
Our SMS services are intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. By opting in, you represent that you are at least 18.
Information We Collect
If you choose to receive SMS messages from us, we may collect the following information:
- Your mobile phone number.
- The content of messages you send to us.
- Message metadata, such as date and time sent/received, delivery status, and opt-in or opt-out preferences.
How We Use SMS Information
We use the information collected through SMS communications to:
- Send and respond to your text messages.
- Provide updates, reminders, or information you request.
- Support, manage, and maintain our SMS messaging service.
- Maintain records of your consent, preferences, and message activity.
We do not use SMS information for marketing unless you have expressly opted in to such messages.
Disclosure of SMS Information
We may share your SMS-related information with:
- Service providers and platform operators (including phone carriers and messaging vendors) who support the delivery and management of SMS communications.
- Our affiliates and contractors who have a need to know the information to support our operations and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We may also disclose SMS information as required to comply with law, legal process, or governmental requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GEC, our users, or others.
Your Choices and Opt-Out Rights
You control whether you receive SMS messages from us.
- Opt-in: We will only send SMS messages if you have provided express consent.
- Opt-out: You may opt out at any time by replying “STOP” to a message from us. After you opt out, we will not send further SMS messages to that number unless you opt in again.
- Help: You may reply “HELP” for more information.

Costs and Charges
GEC does not charge you for receiving SMS messages. However, your mobile carrier’s messaging and data rates may apply.
Security
We maintain reasonable measures to protect SMS-related information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, transmission via SMS is not fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to These SMS Terms
We may update these SMS Terms & Privacy Notice from time to time. The effective date will appear at the top of this page. Your continued participation in SMS messaging after any changes indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
