How can circular design principles be effectively integrated into the electronics industry to achieve systems-change?

In an industry marked by rapid innovation and consumption, embracing circularity in electronics is paramount — not only for mitigating environmental impact through waste and resource extraction, but also for fostering innovation, resilience and long-term viability within the industry. The Circular Electronics Partnership, in collaboration with Accenture, is set to publish the Circular Design Handbook for Electronics which bridges the gap between the vision for circularity and clear strategic and executional direction. Co-created with industry experts, the handbook will offer comprehensive guidance for applying circular principles to the electronics industry, marrying technical know-how with the essential enabling conditions for success. In this session, we’ll offer a behind the scenes look at the handbook and hear from leaders shaping the future of circular design in electronics.

Erica는 환경, 건강, 안전 및 지속 가능성 분야에서 25년 이상의 전문 경험을 보유하고 있습니다.  그녀의 환경 정책 및 표준 개발 작업에는 특히 IEEE 1680.2 이미징 장비 표준의 개발에 이해 관계자로 참여하고 EPEAT 에코 라벨의 환경 민감성 재료 하위 그룹 (IEEE 1680.2 / 1680.3 결합 작업 그룹)의 공동 의장으로 활동하는 것이 포함됩니다. 그녀는 작업장 화학 물질 노출 위험 평가 및 선도적 인 환경, 건강 및 안전 감사 팀을 수행 할뿐만 아니라 제품 환경 준수, 특히 전자 폐기물, 화학 물질 제한 및 생태 라벨을 촉진 한 경험이 있습니다. 지난 수십 년 동안 Erica는 환경 설계에서 책임감있는 수명 종료에 이르기까지 ICT 업계의 다양한 제품 환경 문제에 대한 합의 정책 입장의 개발 및 의사 소통을 촉진하기 위해 분야와 지역에 걸쳐 노력해 왔습니다.

GEC에 합류하기 전에 Erica는 ITI(Information Technology Industry Council)의 정책 담당 선임 이사, 가장 최근에는 Dell Technologies의 선임 제품 환경 규제 엔지니어 등 다양한 직책을 역임했습니다. 에리카는 로체스터 공과대학교에서 학사 학위를, 로체스터 대학교에서 석사 학위를, 존스 홉킨스 대학교에서 환경 정책 중심인 국제 공공 정책(MIPP) 석사 학위를 받았습니다.
