Eligibility Requirements

The EPEAT Purchaser Awards recognize excellence in the sustainable procurement of IT products. EPEAT Purchasers will be recognized for each product category in which they purchase EPEAT-registered IT products and all of the eligibility requirements have been met. EPEAT Purchaser Award applications are accepted year-round. Contact your vendor using this sample language for requesting EPEAT-specific reporting.

The EPEAT Purchaser Awards are open to all organizations that purchase EPEAT-registered products and meet the following requirements:

  • Agree to have your organization identified as an EPEAT Purchaser, be listed as such on Global Electronics Council’s website and agree to share your most up to date Benefits Calculation on the GEC website. By submitting an EPEAT Purchaser Award application, you agree to have your organization identified as an EPEAT Purchaser, be listed as such along with your organization’s logo on the Global Electronics Council (GEC) website and to allow GEC to share your most up‐to‐date Benefits Calculation on the GEC website.
  • Have, or be actively developing, an organizational purchasing policy for sustainable procurement. GEC recommends your organization have specific policy language or guidance for procurement of environmentally preferable or sustainable Information Technology (IT) products and/or electronics (see model policy language).
  • Set specifications or use contracts (if applicable) that require or prefer EPEAT registered products (PC/Displays, Imaging Equipment, Mobile Phones, Servers, and Televisions) inclusive of applicable service contracts (see model contract language). Agree to share specific EPEAT vendor contract language (if applicable) as a best practice for other purchasers.
  • Report purchasing data of EPEAT registered products to Global Electronics Council to allow for completion of Benefits Calculation.
