Stakeholder feedback and insights are an integral component of GEC’s management of the EPEAT Program. GEC is currently soliciting feedback from stakeholders on the following topics:

Representative, Similar and Dissimilar Products

Over the past several years, EPEAT has improved the conformity assurance process to better align with stakeholder expectations and ensure the program remains credible and robust, while retaining efficiencies to balance the complex realities of the electronics industry. During the 2023 public comment period for the latest P66 revisions (Issue 2, Revision 3), stakeholders requested additional information and examples of “substantive differences” and further definition of “representative product”. The EPEAT Program will be reaching out individually to Participating Manufacturers and CABs to collect additional information to further identify and define substantive differences and representative product before the next revision of EPEAT Conformity Assurance Implementation Manual (P66). Please check your inbox for an email from our team.

Webinar Series to Solicit Feedback on Proposed Registry Changes for Updated Criteria Launch

On September 18 – 19, 2024 EPEAT will host a series of webinars for Participating Manufacturers, CABs, and Purchasers to introduce and solicit feedback on proposed feature and functionality changes to the Registry as a part of the Updated Criteria launch in 2025. Webinar attendees will be given a contextual overview of the proposed changes and can see visual representations of alternative development options. A feedback period will follow the webinar series, where Participating Manufactures, CABs, and Purchasers will select the proposed change options that best meet their needs. The overview and registration email for the webinar series will be sent in the coming weeks. Please reach out to Kim Hair (khair@gec.org) with any questions on the webinar series.

Criteria Development Roadmap

GEC is developing a 5-year product category roadmap and would like input from the supply side and the demand side on the expansion of EPEAT to new product categories. For purchasers, what products are you buying, perhaps in volume, that you would like to see covered by EPEAT? For manufacturers, are there products in your portfolio that purchasers are asking for EPEAT or that you’d like to differentiate in the marketplace with the EPEAT sustainability label?  In September, GEC will send out 2 surveys in its newsletters, one for manufacturers and the other for purchasers, to gather input.  Stay tuned for the announcements or reach out to Patty Dillon (pdillon@gec.org) to receive direct notice when the survey is released.
