After more than two decades of dedication to EPEAT® and sustainable electronics, Patty Dillon, the Global Electronic Council®‘s (GEC) Vice President of Criteria and Category Development, will be retiring at the end of this month.
Patty’s journey with EPEAT began in 2004 as a member of the development team that created the EPEAT ecolabel, which launched in 2006. Since then, she has played an instrumental role in shaping and developing EPEAT, serving in multiple leadership roles. Most recently, as VP of Criteria and Category Development, Patty led the complex and collaborative process of updating the EPEAT Criteria—an effort that will culminate in the launch of the next generation criteria this November 2025. Her contributions have left a lasting impact on GEC and the global push for sustainable technology.
As we celebrate Patty’s remarkable career and wish her the best in retirement, we are also excited to announce that Holly Elwood will be joining GEC as Vice President of Strategic Engagement and Category Development. Holly, formerly of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, brings nearly 20 years of experience in sustainable procurement and standards. In her new role at GEC, she will lead the long-range category development for EPEAT and strategic engagement efforts with key stakeholder groups to support GEC’s mission growth.
Additionally, Erica Terek will now assume the role of Senior Director of Criteria Development, further strengthening our leadership.
We look forward to welcoming Holly on March 3rd and continuing to build on the solid foundation that Patty has helped establish. Please congratulate Patty on her retirement and welcome Holly and Erica into their new roles!
